Kali Linux 2023.3 has been released

Kali Linux version 2023.3 is now available for download. It has been optimized and includes nine new tools. The Kali team states that there are not many new features in this release, and most of the changes have been made to improve overall reliability.

Updating the internal architecture

The Kali team focused on redesigning the operating system infrastructure to match the Debian 12 release. Improvements will continue to be made until the end of the year.

In addition, the Kali team has updated its internal packaging scenarios, adding additional features and improvements.

New tools

A total of nine new tools have been added to Kali 2023.3:

Calico — Cloud infrastructure and network security;

cri-tools — CLI and validation tools for the Kubelet container execution interface;

Hubble — Observability of network, services and security for Kubernetes using eBPF;

ImHex — Hex editor for reverse engineers;

kustomize — configuring Kubernetes YAML configurations;

Rekono is an automation platform that combines various tools for performing pentesting processes;

rz-ghidra — deep integration of the Ghidra decompiler and sleigh disassembler for rizin;

unblob — extract files from containers of any format;

Villain — C2 is a framework for working with multiple reversible shells, which allows you to extend their functionality and share them between instances.

Also in the new version of Kali, such packages and libraries as Greenbone, Humble, Impacket, jSQL, OWASP ZAP, Rizin, Tetragon, theHarvester, Wireshark and others have been updated.

In addition to the new tools, the kernel version has been updated to 6.3.7.

Kali Autopilot

Earlier this year, the developers introduced the Kali Autopilot automated attack system. Now he has made his debut in the issue. The developers say they are continuing to work on the platform, adding features based on user feedback. Examples of attack scenarios can also be downloaded from the Kali Purple Hub.

Kali Nethunter supports new mobile cores, including:

How to download Kali Linux 2023.3

To start using Kali Linux 2023.3, you can upgrade an existing installation or directly download ISO images for new installations and existing distributions.
