A video game developer from Los Angeles is not up to games.
Riot Games is an American video game developer, publisher and organizer of esports tournaments, known for creating popular League of Legends and Valorant games.
The company announced a cyber incident and initiated an investigation after discovering a compromise of the development environment.
The attackers used social engineering as an initial vector. As was the case with 2K Games, when in September 2022, attackers hacked the support service for subsequent attacks on customers using malware.
Despite the fact that so far there are no signs of theft of players' data and their personal information, the violation directly affected the possibility of releasing game content.
The development teams of League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics also confirmed Friday's incident, working hard on new patches that are likely to be delayed, including the promised patch 13.2 for LoL.
Similarly, the TFT team added that the problem may affect the timing and volume of the release of planned changes, but the developers intend to implement the most significant of them with a fix at the scheduled time.
The video game industry continues to be in the focus of the cyber underground, continuing to get into the lists of high-profile incidents similar to Electronic Arts (EA) and Ubisoft.
