SparkyLinux is a GNU/Linux distribution
Why Sparky?
SparkyLinux is a GNU/Linux distribution based on the Debian GNU/Linux operating system.
Sparky is a fast, lightweight and fully customizable operating system that offers multiple versions for different use cases, such as:
* Full-featured standard desktop version with a lightweight desktop environment. It works out of the box on almost any hardware and provides a selection of software for home users.
* An economical version of MinimalGUI with the Openbox window manager. It contains only the essentials and is designed for users who need full flexibility when creating their own desktop using only the packages they desire.
* An even more economical version of MinimalCLI without a graphical desktop. For advanced users who want to create their own desktop from scratch or who do not need a graphical interface.
* Three special versions:
– GameOver for computer games
– Multimedia for audio and video enthusiasts and/or web developers
– Rescue, a set of tools for system recovery (uses Openbox as a window manager)
Sparky supports about 20 desktop environments and window managers, giving you the freedom to choose, keeping in mind that your computer is designed for work, having fun, keeping in touch with friends and much, much more.
Sparky “stable flavor” is the best choice to change an existing, different operating system and try the GNU/Linux distribution without having to install and change the partition table of your computer.
Sparky “rolling (testing) flavor” is designed for more advanced users who are not intimidated by less stable versions of applications and who want to work with the latest version of the software offered.
If you like Sparky, just install it in parallel or on top of your current OS.
