Windows 11 23H2
Despite the fact that smartphone usage has grown worldwide thanks to iOS and Android, and almost the entire software industry is focused almost exclusively on developing for these operating systems, the PC platform is still very important. That's why, when Microsoft releases a new version of Windows, all the attention is focused on the Redmond company, and with Windows 11, this should not have become less.
Major design changes and significant performance improvements
As usual, there are performance improvements in every new version of Windows, but there are also design changes, and this time the most important ones affect the Start menu, which is now in the center of the taskbar (although we can return it to its classic place, on the left), and when it opens, then occupies the central part of the desktop. This menu now has separate areas instead of the classic animated tiles. These design changes also affected the iconography: new icons or more rounded edges appeared.
Another important feature of this new version of the operating system is how the multitasking mode is designed, allowing users to place windows in different positions and additionally customize the way they work with multiple applications or documents at the same time. This change in the multitasking feature is directly related to increased productivity, which is reflected in the integration of Microsoft Teams, which is now natively present for messaging and video conferencing, overtaking Skype in these functions.
In short, Windows 11 comes with conceptual updates in terms of how the user interacts with devices and resources available online, used most of the time for both work and entertainment. These are the main functions of the operating system developed by Microsoft:
Changes to the Start menu affect its design and operation in some aspects.
Improved communication with contacts, the most frequently used applications and online resources such as news, games, content and more.
Productivity is improved by expanding multitasking and giving users more freedom to customize their workspace.
Microsoft Teams is now integrated natively and plays a big role in messaging and video conferencing.
Aesthetic changes to update the overall design.
Enabling widgets to provide real-time information.
The design of the Microsoft store has been redesigned to offer both video games and audiovisual content such as TV series and movies.
Access to the Xbox Game Pass gaming platform for streaming with over 100 online games (for an additional fee, of course).
Built-in support for Android applications to run on the operating system without using emulators has been announced.
